3D printing mastermind Dassault Systemes and workforce development organization Base 11 have teamed up to create an initiative to teach students 3D printing. The U.S. branch of Dassault Systemes has provided a grant to Base 11 to allow them to establish a year-long course at three community colleges – Skyline College, Orange Coast College, and South Mountain Community College.
While these courses will begin in January 2018, Base 11 isn’t wasting any time reaching out to students. The organization has already created a new training initiative that will debut this summer at the University of California Irvine’s Samueli School of Engineering. It also formed its own summer fellowship program, called the Autonomous Systems Engineering Academy, which provides students with eight weeks of project-based design and printing education.
